Obituary of Tina Lynn Donaldson
Tina Lynn Waterstradt was born on August 19, 1976, in Trenton, Michigan. She was one of five daughters born to the union of William Harold and Sarah Anne (Wickenheiser) Waterstradt. Tina graduated from Monroe High School with the Class of 1994, where she was a member of the Business Professionals of America (BPA). She continued her education at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti where she earned a Bachelor’s in History and English for Secondary Education and a Master’s of Arts in Reading. Tina relished in her role as an educator and had been employed as a teacher for St. Joseph Grade School in Trenton, Michigan the past few years.
On April 28, 2007, she wed David Donaldson. The couple enjoyed fifteen years of marriage. A devout Catholic, Tina was a parishioner of Divine Grace Parish, St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carleton, Michigan. Her ministry included volunteering at Holiday Camp to assist children with special needs. A talented crafter, Tina also crocheted beautifully. She could often be found with either a book or a pen in her hand as she had a deep appreciation for literature and writing. Tina loved nothing more than spending time with her family and always made time for attending her nieces and nephew’s events.
Tina Lynn Donaldson, age 46, of Monroe, passed away on Sunday; November 13, 2022, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her father: William Waterstradt on November 5, 1993; her nephew: Lance Joseph in June 2014; paternal grandparents: William and Florence Waterstradt; maternal grandparents: Frank and Ursula Wickenheiser; and beloved canine companions: “Gordie” and “Kevin”.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband: David Donaldson; mother: Sarah Anne Waterstradt; sisters: Theresa Lynn Joseph of Monroe, Tamara Lynn (Darren) Stout of Kent, Washington, Tonya Lynn (George) Lemanski of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Tara Lynn (Chris) Lewandowski of Monroe; eight nieces and nephews: Eric, Kyle, Joshua, Jared, Jeremy, Emily, Katelyn, and William; and pet pooch: “Obi” who was always by her side.
Friends may gather on Monday; November 21, 2022, from 10:00am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am at Divine Grace Parish Church, St. Patrick Church; 2996 West Labo Road, Carleton, Michigan 48117. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Maybee for burial of her cremated remains. Tina’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
