Obituary of Sherry Farris
Please share a memory of Sherry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sherry Lynn Goss was born in Monroe on January 28, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Nuel Edward and Loreida (Lawson) Goss. Sherry married the love of her life, Robert Von Farris on March 26, 1982 in Monroe. Together the couple raised seven children.
For many years, Sherry worked in customer service employed as a cashier at Meijer for fourteen years and working five years for Lowes Home Improvement.
Sherry was a wonderful, supportive wife and mother willing to do anything for anyone. Sherry could be counted on to be honest, generous, and up-front. Even having a large family of her own, she was always willing to take in other children whenever needed. More than anything, Sherry cherished the time that she spent with her family. She especially loved taking her grandchildren to the apple orchard.
Sherry enjoyed shooting pool and with her take charge personality ran the pool league. She collected Barbie dolls, loved Motown music and oldies, and traveling nationally visiting swap meets. Sherry was especially fond of Christmas because it gave her an additional excuse to spoil others with presents.
Sherry Lynn Farris, age 60 of Monroe passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in her daughter's home. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by a son: Adam Taylor
To cherish her memory Sherry leaves her loving husband of thirty-two years: Robert Sr. of Monroe; six beloved children: Tara Farris, Shelly Farris, Taylor Farris, and Javian Williams all of Monroe; Robin (Sean) Schmidt of New Boston and Robert V. Farris Jr. (Michelle Krug); two brothers: Kory (Tammy) Goss of Monroe and James R.
