Andrea Lynn Perry was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 7, 1946. She was one of three children born from the union of the late Floyd Perry and the late Mary Jane (Conroy) Perry.
Andrea married the love of her life James Edward Olinger in March of 1986 at their home in Milan, Michigan. Together the couple would raise their two children. Andrea was a loving and supportive wife and mother. For more than twenty years she worked as a Nurse's Aide. She served the mentally ill as an employee of the State of Michigan. She then took employment with Comfort Inn for several years before retiring in 2005.
Andrea was an avid reader. She kept up on current events by reading the newspaper and challenged herself to a new book every week. Her favorite read was the novel "All Things Big and Small". Andrea was also a fan of writer, Patricia Cromwell. She enjoyed listening to music, particularly the Irish Tenner's. Andrea was a fanatic of Ireland although she never had the opportunity to visit there.
Spending time with her family and friends in the senior community was of the utmost importance. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, cribbage, and playing cards, with euchre being her favorite. Being an animal lover, Andrea always cherishing the time she spent with her own pets.
Andrea Lynn Olinger, age 67 of Dundee passed away peacefully at 11:25pm, Monday, August 25, 2014 at Medilodge of Monroe. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her loving husband in November of 2008: James Edward Olinger; brother: Robert Perry; and an infant son: John Perry.
To cherish her memory she leaves two children: Patrick (Mary) Root of Petersburg and Elizabeth "Liz" (Mark) Christy of Rockford, Michigan; her sister: Kathleen (Joseph) Fellhauer of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Scott Root and Haylee Root both of Petersburg, Trenton Christy of Plainwell, Michigan, and Parker Christy of Rockford, Michigan; and two great grandchildren: Ryleigh and Carter Root both of Petersburg.
Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. A private memorial service is being planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, (734) 384-5185.
