Obituary of Mary M. Schall

Mary M. Schall, age 94, of Petersburg, Michigan passed away at her home under her families care and hospice on Monday, November 20, 2017. She was born in Bad Axe, Michigan December 16, 1922 the daughter of Norman and Marie (Foley) MacEachin. She married Ralph J. Schall April 21, 1951 at St. Mary Catholic Church Wayne, Michigan. Officiating was her cousin Monsignor Jerome MacEachin. Prior to her marriage and raising a family she was a Michigan Bell Telephone Co. telephone operator. She also worked for Profit Food Service in Wayne and Stinson Aircraft Co also of Wayne. She graduated from Wayne High School in 1942. For 15 years she taught Catechism and was a Eucharist minister at St. Irene Catholic Church in Dundee. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2001 and were married for 66 years. She is a member of St. Irene Campus of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. And was a former member of the Dundee Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling, watching tv, going to movies, gardening and listening to music from the 1930’s to the 1950’s. She is survived by her husband Ralph Sr; sons Steve (Bonnie) Schall of Dundee, Ralph (Marie) Schall Jr, of Petersburg and Dennis (Robin) Schall of Estes Park, Colorado; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 6 PM at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156/888-383-4176) She will lie in state from 10:30 AM until 11 AM Mass of the Resurrection at St. Irene/St.Gabriel Catholic Church in Dundee. Officiating will be the Rev. Gerard Cupple church pastor. After services she will be cremated and her cremains interred at Pleasant View Cemetery in Petersburg.
