Obituary of Michael L. Spears

Michael L. Spears, age 69, of Dundee, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 7, 2017 at his home. He was born in Huntington, West Virginia on November 22, 1947 the son of Lonnie and Dorothy (Jenkins) Spears. He moved to Dundee when he was 14 and attended Dundee Community Schools. He worked for the Ford Motor Co. at its Rawsonville Plant for over 35 years retiring in 2001. He married the former Sara L. Goodridge on October 20, 1993 in Toledo, Ohio. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 72 in Dundee; loved spending time up north; doing woodworking; loved antique cars especially his GTO and the Detroit Tigers. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at the Dundee VFW Post, Dunham at McBride Streets from 4 – 8 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Arrangements are being handled by the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156 or 888-383-4176) In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Mike is survived by his wife Sara (Goodridge) Spears; son Michael Jr. and family; daughters Denise (Tim) Paquin; Courtney (Matt) Clark and Rachel Scheich; grandchildren Brad Robinson and family; Tatiana; Joslyn; Avery Ball; Camdyn & Ryleigh Clark; Lilli & Cady Paquin; sister Linda (Bernard) Pennington; brother Ron Spears and family; nieces Lisa (Mike) Williams, Stephanie (Rob) Burrows and their children Britney and Dillon; also family, friends and cousins who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Butch Spears and Larry Spears.
