Obituary of Mildred Ruth Schneider

Mildred Ruth Hale was born on August 8, 1921 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of two children born from the union of Henry A. Hale and Caroline F. (Harbeck) Hale. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and Monroe High School graduating with the Class of 1939. Mildred married the love of her life, the late Harold F. Schneider at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in April of 1946. From this union the couple was blessed with the birth of three beautiful children: Jean, Michael, and Carolyn. A lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mildred was a woman of strong faith living each day by Christian values. She raising her children in the church and they were educated at Trinity Lutheran School. Mildred was proud of her congregation and very knowledgeable about the church history having been present for more than half of it. Family was of utmost importance to her. She enjoyed hosting holiday get-togethers and took pride in preparing special meals for her family. Mildred also found joy in traveling with her family. Whatever the activity she truly cherished the time spent with them. Mildred Ruth Schneider, age 95, of Monroe went home to be with the Lord at 8:48pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Alice Lorraine Care Center of Monroe. Her passing was preceded by her husband: Harold in September of 1992, her parents, a grandson: Ricky Scott Haines; and her brother: Clifford O. Hale. To cherish her memory, Mildred leaves two daughters: Jean Schneider (Daniel Hoban) of Lathrup Village, Michigan, and Carolyn (Rick) Haines of Monroe; one son: Michael Schneider of Allen Park; two grandchildren: Daniel (AnnMarie) Hoban and Kevin (Sari) Hoban; three great grandchildren: Jared Haines, Faith Hoban, and Lainey Hoban. Friends may gather on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, and (734) 384-5185. She will lie in state on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 10:00am until a funeral service beginning at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Scott Street with Reverend Daniel Potts officiating. Procession will follow with burial at Woodland Cemetery in Monroe. Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Promedica Hospice of Monroe.
