Obituary of Jason Warren Gekle

December 12, 1978 – July 16, 2016 Jason W. Gekle was born on December 12, 1978 in Monroe, Michigan. He was the son of John W. Gekle and Janet L. Tedrow. He attended Monroe Public Schools and had many Academic and Fitness awards, Including the Presidential Academic Fitness Award. Later he furthered his education at Monroe County Community College. Jason loved to spend the day out fishing. He enjoyed and participated in many sports such as, basketball, baseball, soccer, and track. Jason was a part of young authors, and he excelled in math. He was currently pursing fine arts, with a focus in portrait drawing. He was also self-employed with an online sales business. Jason W. Gekle, age 37 of Monroe, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 16, 2016. To cherish his memory, he leaves; His parents: John W. (Denise) Gekle of Adrian, and Janet L. (Bruce) Tedrow of Wauseon, Ohio; a daughter: Kayleen Rose Gekle of South Rockwood; fiancé, Christie Kronk; son: Jaxon Kruz Kronk–Gekle of Ottawa Lake, Michigan; two brothers: Gerald K. (Shannon) Fowler II of Raleigh, North Carolina and Joshua J. Gekle of Monroe, Michigan; one step brother: Allen (Lacey) Abbot of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three step sisters: Sharon (Mike) Dachenhaus of Whitehouse, Ohio, Jennifer (Ries) Robinson of Canton, Michigan; Amber Neely of Toledo, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on July 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm at CrossPointe Church 1675 Stewart Road, Monroe. Immediately following the service, further celebration of Jason’s life and a luncheon will take place at the Moose Lodge from 2:00pm until 5:00pm, 1320 North Macomb, Monroe. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe (734)384-5185.
