Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Albert Dale Kull was born on November 24, 1942, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of five children born to the union of Elton and Marian (Hoppert) Kull.  Albert attended Monroe Public Schools, graduating from Monroe High School in 1961.  Following graduation, Albert enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and where he served proudly and honorably.

On September 15, 1967, in Monroe, Michigan, Albert married the love of his life, the former Ann Louise Phipps and together the couple was blessed with two sons: Joseph and Jerald. Albert loved working and when he wasn’t he happily spent his free time outdoors mowing grass.  For more than thirty years before his retirement, Albert drove truck for the Ace Paper Company.  He also owned and operated Al’s Used Pallets in Newport, Michigan.

Albert loved going up north to Cummins, Michigan where he hunted deer.  He also loved filling his time in the Monroe area turtle trapping and duck and pheasant hunting. When Albert wasn’t enjoying the serenity of the outdoors, he took trips with his bride to try their hand at the Greektown Casino.  Al enjoyed watching sports rooting on his beloved Detroit Lions and Tigers or cheering on the next contestant for the Price is Right, but he refused to watch the Dr. Phil show.  Albert was a man that loved and cherished his family and friends.  He wasn’t one to spend frivolously on himself, choosing instead to put the needs of those around him first.

Albert Dale Kull, age 80 of Newport, Michigan passed away at home on Thursday; November 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Heartland Hospice.  His passing was preceded by his parents: Elton and Marian Kull; his beloved wife: Ann on January 25, 2020; a brother: Lyle Kull; and three sisters: Anna Marie Russo, Joyce Mullins, and Carol Langton.
