Obituary of David Henry Kittle

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

David Henry Kittle was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on August 28, 1959. He was one of four children and the only son born to Henry and Rosa (Duncan) Kittle. As a child, David moved with his family from New Boston to Erie, Michigan where he graduated from Erie Mason High School.

On April 6, 1986, David wed the love of his life, the former Peggy Brueshaber. The couple married at the same location they met, Full Gospel Church in Erie, where Peggy’s father was the Pastor. The couple enjoyed traveling together to their favorite destination, the majestic Smokey Mountains, often timing their trip with the Rod Run Car Show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. David provided for the needs of his family, employed as a Millwright at Stellantis Dundee Engine Plant for thirteen years.

A “Gear Head”, David loved cars since he was a little boy. He had a natural mechanical ability. Interested in seeing how things worked, David would take items apart and put them back together at a young age. He cherished his large collection of “Hot Wheels” diecast cars. However, David’s favorite car was full sized. After many years of searching, he became the proud owner of an Island Green, 1973 Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet. David loved showing off his dream car with the Monroe Goodtime Cruisers Car Club. Naturally, he enjoyed tuning in to the televised Barrett Jackson car auctions. David never met a stranger and especially liked talking cars with the guys.

David Henry Kittle, age 64, of Erie, Michigan passed away peacefully at ProMedica Toledo Hospital on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. His passing was preceded by his parents; his father and mother-in-law: John and Margaret Brueshaber; and rescued canine companions: “Clementine”, a Yellow Lab, and “Holly”, a Chocolate Lab.

To cherish his memory, he leaves a beloved wife of thirty-seven years: Peggy Kittle; three sisters: Christine (Juan) Rodriguez, Charlotte Kittle-Ray, and Debi (BJ) Davenport; and thirteen nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance luncheon of David’s Life will be held on Saturday; January 20, 2024 at 11:00am at Stewart Road Church of God; 1199 Stewart Road, Monroe, Michigan, 48162.
