Frances Alice Hale was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 13, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Carl Hale and the late Margaret (Steiner) Hale. Frances attended Monroe Schools.
Frances married the love of her life Lloyd James West on May 18, 1954 in Monroe. From this union would come the birth of five children. Frances was proud of her responsibility as a homemaker and proudly looked after the needs of her husband and children. More than anything, Frances loved her family, and she cherished the time she spent with them.
Frances Alice West age 83 of Monroe passed away at 2:46am, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband: Lloyd on October 27, 2014; her passing was preceded by an infant daughter: Kimberly Ann West; a granddaughter: Jamie R. West; and five siblings: Mary Carter, Betty Cooley, John (Sophie) Hale, Kate (Reaford) Prochnow, Dorothy (Virgil) Parker
To cherish her memory, Frances leaves two sons: Mark (Brenda) West of Monroe and Martin (Betty) West of Newport; two daughters: Patricia (Edward) Andrews and Cheryl Schlump and Jim O'Hara both of Monroe; eleven grandchildren: Jodi (Eric) Pillette, Jennifer (John) Snavely, Jenna West, Chad Andrews, Danielle Schlump, Stephanie Schlump, Nicholas Schlump, Julie (Bill) Messenger, Jessica (Ryan) Kisonas, and Jenelle West; and fifteen great grandchildren.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street in Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 also at Merkle's with Chaplain Larry Lyons of Mercy Memorial Hospital officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
