Obituary of Lorrene E. Leist
Lorrene Elizabeth Broseke Leist, age 87,of Milan and formerly of Dundee, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Evangelical Home, Saline, MI. She was born October 27, 1923, in Dunkirk, OH, to the late Walter E. Sr. and Louise (Flinn) Broseke. She was a 1941 graduate of Kenton High School, Kenton, OH, and a 1946 graduate of Bowling Green State University. She was an elementary school teacher and taught 34 years in schools in Ohio and Michigan, ending her career with over 20 years at Ida, MI. She was a dedicated teacher and loved teaching. She spent several years raising and showing Persian cats, and also enjoyed spending time helping with the Old Mill Restoration Project in Dundee, MI, where she was a long-time resident. She was a great cook and will be remembered for her many dinners for friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her ex-husband, Otis, and brothers, Walter Jr. and Charles. She is survived by her children, Russ Leist (Deb Poprock), Sandusky, OH; Linda (Peter) DeLorenzo, Marysville, OH; brother, Wesley (Joan) Broseke, Kenton, OH; grandchildren, Laura (Jeff) Catalano, St. Louis, MO; Tyler DeLorenzo, Dayton, OH; Tia DeLorenzo, Marysville, OH; and great-grandchildren, Robbie and Charlie Catalano. In accordance with her wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee, Michigan (734-529-3156).
