Obituary of Alfred N. Baker
Alfred N. Baker, age 75, of Dundee, formerly of Saline and Ypsilanti, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at the Evangelical Home in Saline. He was born in Ypsilanti on July 13, 1940 the son of Avery and Valeria (Jaroh) Baker. He graduated in 1959 from Ypsilanti High School. He joined the US Navy and served as a Boilerman 3rd Class. His enlistment was from 1959-1963. He served on the USS Kitty Hawk stationed out of San Diego, California. He married Shirley F. Ellis on October 17, 1964 in Ypsilanti. He worked in the construction industry all of his life and as a brick layer and did maintenance work later on. Al is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters Kristine (Scott) Dusseau of Dundee and Kim (Christopher) Lohrmann of Rochester, NY; sister Norma (Calvin) Luckhardt of Ypsilanti; grandchildren Adam, Austin, Jennifer, Spencer, Jamie and Addison. He was preceded in death by his parents. He enjoyed camping, playing cards, cooking outdoors, golfing and bowling.
