Obituary of Roberta M. Cowen Kroeger

Roberta M. Cowen Kroeger, age 98, of Dundee passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital. She was born February 8, 1917 in Raisinville Township the daughter of Owen and Margaret (Evans) Fisher. She married Donald Cowen May 16, 1937 at Angola, Indiana. He passed away July 19, 1960. She then married Richard Kroeger February 5, 1972. He passed away August 19, 1981. She had lived in Rea from 1945 until moving into Dundee in 1972. She also had been employed as an outpatient aide at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor for 12 years. Roberta was proud to have graduated from the Dundee High School Adult Education Program in 1983. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Dundee VFW Post # 6462 and Dundee American Legion post # 72. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and its Love Circle and the Dundee Senior Citizens. She is survived by sons Ronald (Judy) Cowen of Roscommon, MI; John (Delores) (Dee) Cowen of Dundee; grand-children Kris Vigliotti, Karla Caplinger, Jeff Cowen, Sheila Hunter and Shane Cowen; 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, her son Douglas Cowen in 1994, sisters Edna Pratt, Eva Toland, Ada Hennean, Nellie Ford, Gertrude Fetzer and Margaret Hanley and brothers Sylvester, Andy and Peter Fisher. Friends may call on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 12 noon until a 1:00 P.M. Memorial Service at St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee. Officiating will be the Rev. Jennifer Kiefer, pastor of the church. Cremation had been held. Private graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee.
