Obituary of Wilbur Jay Fairbanks

Wilbur (Jay) Fairbanks, age 99 of Dundee, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2013 at Magnum Care in Monroe. He was born in Milan, Michigan the son of Steven T. and Blanche (Brown) Fairbanks. He graduated from Milan High School in 1933 and married Betty J. Jenne on August 14, 1937 at Milan. Among many things, Jay owned and operated the B & J Market in Dundee with his wife. After selling the store he and his wife ran a milk route together in Dundee. He loved to garden and especially loved fishing. His survivors are his daughter Jean Ellis of Dundee; grandchildren David Miller, Karen Hasten, Jacqueline (Michael) Lusch, Kristin Ellis and Jay Ellis; son in law Dale Miller of Hale, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Dec. 19, 2013, parents , daughter Kay Miller,son in law Ronald Ellis and siblings Clarence, Chester, Carl, Dorothy, Nora, Ellen and Nina. Friends may call on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 10 AM until services at 11 AM at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156). Officiating will be Rev. Douglas Olsen, pastor of the Dundee United Methodist Church. In accordance with his wishes cremation has been held. Cremains interment will follow later at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee.
