Obituary of John N. Bruckner
John N. Bruckner, born on July 17th, 1936 in Azalia, Michigan to Nelson (Nick) and Florance (Pickens) Bruckner, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jacqueline Fouts. John graduated from Dundee High School in 1954. He married the former Shirley Hunter in 1957 and they had 54 wonderful years together. He worked for WestSide Fuel-Tansel Ford, then worked as a diesel mechanic at the Ford Motor Company Rawsonville Plant. He retired in September 2004 after 37 years there. John was still actively driving cars for Spirit Ford in Dundee. He was a member of the Azalia United Methodist Church, was the former supervisor of Milan Township, served on the Mental Health Board, was a member of the Dundee Masonic Lodge, F. & A.M., volunteered at Saline Community Hospital, was a board member of the Dundee Senior Citizens and coached on the Dundee Rec Ball League. He was a season ticket holder for U of M football games for 50 years. He loved spending time up north at his cabin on the lake and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John has left behind his loving wife Shirley, three children: Pamela (Lawrence) Kominek, David Bruckner and Duane (Chrissie) Bruckner all of Dundee; sister Peggy Myers of Benton Harbor, Michigan; nine grandchildren: Chad (Jenn) Zorn, Lawrence (Kelly) Kominek Jr., Hope Kominek (Greg Schrader), Malinda (Erich) Swartz, Taylor Bruckner, Shelby Bruckner, Hunter Bruckner, Jacob Bruckner and Hayden Bruckner; five great-grandchildren. Payton Zorn, Holden Zorn, Jaxson Swartz, Kaden Kominek and Brett Kominek. Friends may call on Friday from 1 – 4 and 6 – 9 PM at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2011. Officiating will be Rev. Courtney Williams, pastor of the Azalia United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Azalia Cemetery.
