Obituary of George W. Perry
George Wesley Perry, age 87, of Dundee, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born in Deerfield, Michigan November 19, 1928 to Vern and Mildred (Miller) Perry. He married Alberta E. “Bertie” Bolster, the love of his life on June 26, 1948 at the Deerfield Methodist Church. They will celebrate 68 years of marriage this year. George attended Petersburg Schools. He worked at Tecumseh Products Company in Tecumseh retiring in 1984. George was a Detroit Tigers fan; was a Boy Scout Leader; was a longtime member of the Dundee United Methodist Church and was a maintenance and groundskeeper at the church for many years. He enjoyed camping and was fortunate enough to be a snowbird for many years. He was also very much a fix it man. He loved working outside and took great pride in his yard and home. His survivors include his wife Alberta “Bertie”, son, Gregory (Carol) Perry of Milan : daughter Jody Misiak of Dundee; grandchildren Kristy (Barry) Ocker, Heidi (Daniel) Fox, Ashley Misiak and Louden Misiak: great-grandchildren Chrisley, Kayley, Kiley, Riley, Carley, Kinley, Levi, Ethan, Autumn, Moriah, Paisley, Journey, Bella and Dylan: brother Bernard Perry of Blissfield; sister Lola Lee Reau of Blissfield, sister in law Eileen Perry of Blissfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael on Dec 26, 1967, grandson Brandon Perry, brothers Alvin, LaVerne and LeRoy. Friends may call on Wednesday from 1 – 8 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) He will lie in state on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 10 AM until service at 11 AM at the Dundee United Methodist Church. . Officiating will be the Rev. Andy Baek, pastor of the Dundee United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Petersburg.
