David Dittmar Jr.

Obituary of David Hugh Dittmar Jr.

David Hugh Dittmar, Jr. was born on May 16, 1965 in Wayne, Michigan. He was one of three children born from the union of his parents: David Hugh Dittmar, Sr. and Lucretia (Smith) Dittmar. He attended Huron High School in New Boston and graduated with the class of 1983. David worked many jobs including Birclar Electric and Ford Motor Company but decided to open his own dog kennel business, Dt Kennels, that he operated along with the help of his mother Lucretia, sister Amy and nephew Christian.

David loved to be outdoors and spent as much time as he could with his dad, nephews and niece hunting deer, small game and birds alongside his dogs, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and target shooting. He was an excellent cook and prepared many meals for himself and for those he loved. He especially loved to ride his motorcycle. At the end of the day he loved to jump on his Harley, turn on his music and hit the road with the wind in his face.

David was known for his serious nature, and at times could come off stern, but deep down he had a playful heart. He enjoyed a good laugh, often at the expense of a practical joke played by him. He loved his family and his dogs and adored his niece and nephews. His funny nature and kind heart will be missed by everyone who knew him.

David Hugh Dittmar, Jr., age 53, of Carleton, passed away on June 28, 2018 in LaSalle Township from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Aunt Nancy Faber and Uncle Skip (Arthur Jr.) Dittmar.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his parents: David Dittmar, Sr. and Lucretia Dittmar; his sisters: Dena (Steve) Mayes and Amy (Jason) Powers; his niece Jensen; his nephews: Griffen, Christian and Collin; his beloved dogs: Zeplin, Zink and Zara; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.
