Gary Norman Stininger
February 1, 1955 - May 6, 2012
Gary Norman Stininger was born in Monroe, Michigan on February 1, 1955. He was one of three children born from the union of Norman James Stininger and the late Geraldine G. (Lester) Stininger. Gary was a 1973 graduate of Monroe High School.
For more than twenty-eight years Gary was employed by the Ford Motor Company at their Monroe Plant working as a Press Operator. Gary was a member of Monroe Local UAW 723.
Gary loved his family. He was a nurturing father to his daughter, Jennifer and she was the love of his life. He was also an excellent son to his parents.
Gary received spiritual nourishment while attending the Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting and fishing could both be listed among his favorite pastimes. Gary enjoyed listening to music and country was his favorite.
Gary Norman Stininger age 57 a lifelong resident of Monroe passed away at 11:31am on Sunday, May 6, 2012 in the Intensive Care Unit of Mercy Memorial Hospital. In addition to his mother on December 22, 2011 his passing was preceded by his grandparents: Albert and Marie Lester and Earl and Luella Stininger.
To cherish his memory he leaves a beloved daughter: Jennifer Stininger of Kansas; his father: Norman Stininger of Monroe; one sister: Sharon (Kenneth) Whitaker of Jenison, Michigan; one brother: Edward Stininger of Monroe; two nieces: Nicole and Kaylene; and one nephew: Dennis.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. He will lie in state from 10:00am until a Celebration of His Life at 11:00am, Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, 14260 South Dixie Highway. Pastor Roy Southerland pastor of the church will officiate. Private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
