Christina Marie Wilhelm was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 30, 1972. She was the daughter of Chester E. Wilhelm II and Pamela (Prather) Wilhelm.
Tina was a 1991 graduate of Monroe High School, and then attended the Toledo Beauty Academy. She worked as a dental assistant, a hair designer, and a nail technician before marrying Frank J. Perna on October 26, 1996. After marriage she became a homemaker and from their union came the birth of two children: Julia and Frankie.
Tina was a perfectionist in all that she did whether decorating her home or completing simple tasks. She loved to spend time with her family and especially her children. She loved to garden, complete crafts, and holidays especially Christmas.
Christina had a strong faith. She read her Bible regularly and had attended Redeemer Fellowship Church for more than ten years. Tina was a very helpful and giving person who took care of everyone before herself, and could always be counted on. She had a big, warm heart and was always extremely grateful to others.
Christina Marie Perna age 39 passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her home in Monroe. Her passing was preceded by a cousin: David; her father in law: Joseph Perna in 2011; and uncle: Rick Prather.
To cherish her memory she leaves her husband: Frank; two children: Julia and Frank II; parents: Chester and Pamela Wilhelm; mother-in-law: Josephine Perna; maternal grandmother: Sue and A.B. Evans; sister: Jennifer (Brian) Pfeiffer; sister-in-law: Annette (Jim) Sharrer; brother-in-law: Nino Perna; four nieces and nephews: Caleb and Caden Pfeiffer and Angelica and Gabriella Sharrer; aunts and uncles: Judy (Tim) Laidlaw, Bonnie (Mark) Hensley, Mark (Cathy) Prather, John (Claudette) Wilhelm, Connie (Joe) Volpi, Lino and Anna Perna, Pete (Pat) Perna, Betty (Frank) Pezzino, Sam (Nina) Mignano, Russ (Josephine) Mignano, Joe (Linda) Mignano, Grace (Salvatore) Vicari, and Maria Liparoto; and seventeen cousins.
Friends may gather from 2:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, March 21 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. She will lie in state from 10:00am until a Celebration of Her Life at 11:00am, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Redeemer Fellowship Church, 5305 Evergreen. Procession will follow to Roselawn.
