Lillian Dorothy (Poupard) Leu June 11, 1925 - March 15, 2012 Lillian Dorothy Poupard was born in Monroe, Michigan on June 11, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Lester Poupard and the late Caroline (Vagt) Poupard. Lillian attended Monroe High School and later earned her GED in 1998. She married the love of her life Glen Leu. They made their home in Archbold, Ohio for many years. For many years Lillian worked as a laborer for the Weise Factory, a box manufacturing company. Lillian was a hard worker and she enjoyed working. In her free time she enjoyed embroidery, often creating handmade gifts as Christmas and Birthday gifts for her loved ones. Lillian also enjoyed completing word-search puzzles. Lillian loved to go for rides in the car. She and Glen loved the great outdoors and camping with their travel trailer. Harrison Lake was a favorite spot to visit. Lillian was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church's Ladies' Axillary. She was also a member of The Monroe Center. Lillian Dorothy Leu age 86 of Monroe passed away at 10:45am, Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Magnumcare of Monroe. She had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her husband: Glen Leu; two children: Michael Glen Leu and Infant Leu; and two sisters: Marie Younglove and Lucille Poupard. To cherish her memory she leaves several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Friends may gather from 1:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 11:00am, Monday, March 19, 2012 also at Merkle's. The Rev. Gary Tryggestad, Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. A memorial luncheon will follow at the church. Burial will follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Archbold, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church or Mercy Memorial Hospice.
