Obituary of Josephine Downey

Josephine Carol Downey was born in Monroe, Michigan on November7, 1933. She was the daughter of thelate Joseph Patterfritz and the late Carmelia (Doppise) Patterfritz. She married George Burt. Josephine was a homemaker. She loved to crochet. Josephinealso had a great passion for making dolls. Josephine Carol Downey age 78 of Monroe passed away at 4:40pm,Friday, March 9, 2012 at Medilodge of Monroe. In addition to her mother and her father, her passing was preceded byher husband: George Burt; four sisters: Dolly, Angelane, Mary, and Marie; and four brothers: Gorland, Pattsy, Nick, and Albert. To cherish her memory she leaves two brothers: Norman(Catherine) Beasley and Michael (Sandy) Camillo; two sisters: Madeline (Casper) Marchese and Tony Camillo;many nieces and nephews including a special niece her nurse: Betty McKart. Friends may gather from 11:00am until 1:00pm, Monday, March 12,2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at1:00pm, Monday, March 12, 2012 also at Merkle's. The Rev. Roy Southerland Pastor of MonroeMissionary Baptist Church will officiate. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to theDowney Family to assist with funeral expenses.
