Carol Jean Poupard
December 28, 1933 - March 2, 2011
Carol Jean Plumb was born in Monroe, Michigan on December 28, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Plumb and the late Cleatus (Naus) Plumb. She attended Monroe Schools.
Carol was married to William Poupard by the Justice of the Peace at the Monroe County Courthouse on November 8, 1952. From this union came the birth of four children. Carol contributed by working outside the home to help support the family. She was employed as a laborer for more than forty years in the automotive industry, but even after a long day's work she would come home and place dinner on the table for her children. When at work, Carol worked in receiving and performed packaging duties for local companies such as Leak Stamping and Monarch Products of Monroe.
Carol wasn't all work though. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, and enjoyed playing bingo wherever she could find a game. Completing crossword puzzles and baking were also favorite pastimes.
Carol Jean Poupard age 77 of Monroe passed away at 10:52am, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at her daughters home. She had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. Her passing in addition to her parents and her husband was preceded by two children: a daughter: Pamela Poupard in 1955 and a son: Randy Poupard in 2004.
To cherish her memory she leaves two children; a son: William "Joe" Poupard of Lewisville, Texas and a daughter: Theresa Poupard of Monroe; one sister: Evelyn (Edmund) Brooks of Lucky, Ohio; one brother: "Eddie" Plumb of Bryan, Ohio; five grandchildren: Sarah Derigo, Christopher Derigo, Michael Benardo, Jason (Stacey) Benardo, and Ryan Poupard; and four great grandchildren: Alyssa Logan, Phoenix Poupard, Sophia Bernardo, and Miranda Bernardo.
