Charlotte Jean Maloche
April 3, 1934 - February 5, 2011
Charlotte Jean DuMoulin was born on April 3, 1934 in Monroe. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Walter John and the late Marie (LaMotte) DuMoulin. She attended St. Mary Academy.
Charlotte married her sweetheart Leo A. Maloche Jr. in Merced, California on October 20, 1951. Together they would share the joy of life with nine children, and she always placed her family on a pedestal.
Charlotte enjoyed cooking, baking cookies, and crocheting. She loved her companions, her little dogs: Abbie and Benji. She was a member of St. Mary Parish and Monroe Senior Citizens where she volunteered. She also had volunteered at The Thrift Shop and with Relay for Life.
For thirty-four and a half years she was employed by Mercy Memorial Hospital. Charlotte served most of her time in the Emergency Department wearing many hats. She retired in 2001.
Charlotte age 76 of Monroe passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Medical Center Saturday, February 5, 2011. In addition to her husband on June 18, 1992 and parents; her passing was preceded by a son: Joseph James Maloche in infancy; a brother: Walter J. DuMoulin Jr.; a brother-in-law: Elmer Gentner; and two grandsons: Kevin James Eby and William Scott Maloche Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory eight children: John Anthony Maloche of Davison, MI, Gary A. (Felicia) Maloche of King George, VA, Lisa Ann (John) Reddington of Monroe, Nance Christine (Dennis) Eby of Monroe, Donald Mark (Robert Figuereo) Maloche of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, William Scott Maloche of Monroe, Timothy Joseph (Karen L.) Maloche of Valparaiso, IN, Karen Michelle Boron ( fiancé Kirby Courtright) of Kingsley, Iowa; one sister: Elizabeth "Betty" Gentner of Adrian; one brother: Ronald (Barbara) DuMoulin of Monroe; and one sister-in-law: Mary DuMoulin of Monroe; seventeen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Friends may gather from 5:00-8:00pm, Monday, February 7, 2011 and from 12:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm, Tuesday. Charlotte will lie in state from 9:30am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30am, Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Mary Parish, 151 North Monroe Street. Father Marc Gawronski officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park for burial.
