Obituary of Janice Crawford

Janice Joanne Crawford October 5, 1959 - December 19, 2010 Janice Joanne Rivett was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 5, 1959. She was one of six children born from the union of the late William Rivett and the late Lucille (Geller) Rivett. Janice attended Southwestern High School in Detroit and later earned her GED. Janice was a family oriented person. She loved to spend time with her daughter and siblings. Later in life she was privileged to become a proud grandmother. Janice looked forward to family get-together and never missed one. She loved dogs and her current companion was Cassie. For many years Janice enjoyed visiting Monroe and stayed with her sister Liz. Being movie buffs together they enjoyed watching movies, and Janice's favorite was "Beaches". Janice also enjoyed reading and her favorite authors were Danielle Steele, Dean Coons, and Stephen King. For more than thirty years Janice was employed as a laborer packaging chips for Frito Lay and AJM. Janice Joanne Crawford age 51 a Monroe resident for the past year passed away at her home on Sunday, December 19, 2010. Her passing in addition to her parents was preceded by two nieces: Sarah Zeidan and Nicole Doute. She leaves to cherish her memory a beloved daughter: Amy Crawford of Taylor; a special granddaughter: Madison Palmer of Taylor; two sisters: Karen (Eduardo) Munoz of Olmstedville, New York and Elizabeth (Ronald) Howard of Monroe; three brothers: Thomas Rivett of Romulus, Daniel (Sandra) Rivett of Canton, Michigan, and Mark (Debra) Rivett of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews; and her longtime boyfriend: Raymond "Rocky" Tellez of Melvindale, Michigan. Friends may gather from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.
