Obituary of Michael Jurysta

Michael Frank Jurysta October 20, 1934 - December 6, 2010 Michael Frank Jurysta was born on October 20, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. His parents were Michael Jurysta and Anna (Revisky) Jurysta. He married his love, Joannie Pizutti, on January 21, 1956 at All Saints Church. They had two children, Michael and Marisa. His wife, Joannie passed away on August 21, 2003. After grade school he attended Morley Technical School, and worked in a soda pop shop. As a young man Mike [Michael] began his tinkering by taking apart his own motorcycle and then reassembling it to see how it worked. Mike was always tooling around in the garage working on cars. This eventually led to his career in auto mechanics. Mike supported his family by working as a Diesel Mechanic for 27 years. He worked for Hanks Hydromatic and Davidson Lumber. He had a strong work ethic, and was known to work, work, work. Mike was a member of the Teamsters Local 458. He was an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3078 in Lincoln Park. Mike enjoyed traveling. His favorite pastimes were playing bingo, visiting the Windsor Casino, and metal detecting. He was a wonderful son, an A-1 brother, devoted husband and father, dearly loved grandfather and great grandfather, a loyal friend, and in recent years the beloved of fiancé Helen Nerowski. Michael Jurysta age 76 of Newport passed away at 11:10pm, Monday, December 6, 2010 at Rivergate Terrace in Riverview. His loving family was at his side. In addition to his parents and his wife, his passing was preceded by his precious sister Genevieve Jurysta and his beloved brother-in-law Eugene Kolasinski. He leaves a number of people to cherish his memory. These include his fiancé Helen Nerowski of Newport; his son Michael Vincent (Margie) Jurysta of Lincoln Park; his daughter Marisa "Risa" (Shawn) Neikirk of Lincoln Park; his sister Helen Kolasinski of Zephyrhills, Florida; his three grandchildren Michael Joseph Jurysta , Amanda Lee Jurysta, and Melanie Ann Tipper; his great granddaughter Adrieana "Ana" Alicia Tipper; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mana and Gabe DeMatteo, his brother-in-law Mike Pizzuti; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 9:00pm, Thursday; December 9, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 11:00am, Friday, December 10, 2010. Procession will follow to Oakridge Cemetery in Flat Rock for burial. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
