Obituary of Josiah Stanley-Gomez

Josiah Stanley-Gomez April 12, 2008 - October 17, 2010 Josiah Stanley-Gomez was born on April 12, 2008, from the union of Jose Gomez and Ashley (Stanley) Gomez. Josiah was a gift to his family. Although his life was short and he had many struggles he never seemed to let them get him down. Josiah wanted his family to feel better although he himself did not. His angelic smile was his trademark. He was amused by certain sounds and loved to hear people whistle. His ever attentive nursing staff will always remember his beautiful dark locks of hair and eyelashes. Josiah was his mama's little monkey, a true mama's boy. He will be remembered as a true fighter. Josiah passed quietly with his family by his side on October 17, 2010. His passing was preceded by Great Grandparents: Dorothy Smith, Lizzy and Charles Stanley, and Beneranda and Juan Vega, and Roberto Gomez. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents: Jose and Ashley Gomez; 6 siblings: Brianna, Jose, Esther, Dominic, Alecia and Gabriel; Grandparents: Esther and William Wynkoop, Roberto Gomez, Alfred and Patsy Stanley; Great Grandfather: Jerry Smith and Great Grandmother: Victoria Gomez; and God Parents Juan and Guadalupe (Vega) Aldana. 2 Aunts, and 5 uncles Friends may gather from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street, Erie, MI. A Celebration of Josiah's Life will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the La Salle Missionary Baptist Church, 12845 C Street in La Salle. Procession will follow to La Salle Township cemetery for burial. In lieu of flowers; memorial donations for those who desire are suggested to the Gomez Family.
