Obituary of Steven Lipp

Steven Michael Lipp August 15, 1961 - October 22, 2010 Steven Michael Lipp was born at a US Air Force Base in England on August 15, 1961. Steven was the son of the late Philip Charles and Barbara Frances (Daisley) Lipp Sr. He graduated from Olivet High School. Steven served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1979 until 1985. Steven married Patricia Brimmer and from this union came the birth of two children: Scott and Eric. He raised his children as a sole parent, but they never wanted, and he taught them to do the right thing. Steven found his soul mate when marrying the former Emily Farner on October 29, 1999 in Toledo. He adopted her children and he thought of them as his own. Steven was a doer, not a talker. He was an excellent provider for his family, working as a truck driver for more than twenty years, and was a member of the Meijer's Union. Steven never met a stranger always putting others before himself. Steven loved God, his country, and his family. He adored his grandchildren and was a father figure to many of his boys' friends. His personality made him unforgettable, he was smart, a jack of all trades. Steven Lipp age 49 of Monroe passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor. His passing was preceded by his father and a grandson: Jay. His memory will be cherished by a beloved wife: Emily of Monroe; his mother: Barbara Lipp; his children: Erin Gibbs of Kalamazoo, Eric (Crystal) Lipp of Monroe, Scott Lipp of Monroe, Elaine Cunningham of Burton, Michigan, Jay (Alexandria) Cunningham of Burton, and Erica Cunningham of Monroe; siblings: Debbie Lipp and her partner Debbie Duame of Battle Creek, Sharron (Jim) Mowers of Laingsburg, Philip (Diana) Lipp Jr. of Battle Creek, and Randy Lipp of California; grandchildren: Brianna, Andra, William, Stephanie, Darren, Thomas, Bruce, and Emma; and dear friends: Mark and Cindy Wineger. Friends may gather from 4:00-7:00pm, Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 where a Celebration of His Life will be held at 7:00pm with the Rev. Philip Voss pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Veteran's services will follow under the Auspices of Monroe VFW Post 1138. Memorial donations may be made to the wishes of the family.
