June Louise Van Slambrouck
June 13, 1927 -October 3, 2010
June Louise Van Slambrouck age 83 of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.
She was born in Monroe on June 13, 1927 the daughter of Leo and Irene (Emahiser) Maloche. June married James R. Van Slambrouck on June 29, 1946 at St. Michael the Archangel. James preceded her with his passing on March 15th, 2004.
June was a lifelong resident of Monroe and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was proud to be a homemaker, raising eight children and loved being with her family. She continued her love of and for children by working as an aide at the Christiancy Elementary School.
June is survived by her children: Catherine (Randal) Barrett of Colorado Sprins, Colorado, Jean (William) Hetrick of Marquette, Michigan, Patrick (Colleen) Van Slambrouck of Mattawan, Michigan, Andrew Van Slambrouck of Monroe, Mary Alice Van Slambrouck of Monroe, Veronica Van Slambrouck of Monroe; Richard (Vicky) Van Slambrouck of Plainwell, Michigan; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and her loyal companion: Ollie.
In addition to her parents and her husband her passing was preceded by a son: Michael Van Slambrouck on November 5, 1999 and two siblings: Dorothy Seward and Leo Maloche.
Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Rosary led by Father William Fisher will be recited at 7:00pm. June will lie in state from 9:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00am, Thursday, October 7, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 924 East Second Street with Father William Fisher and Father Dan Complo co-officiating. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe for burial.
