Obituary of John Watt

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John "Johnny" Douglas Watt July 25, 1951 - May 2, 2016 John "Johnny" Douglas Watt was born on July 25, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of three children born from the union of the late John Watt and the late Jean (Treacher) Watt. Johnny attended McKerron Elementary School, Tappan Middle School, and McKenzie High School all in Detroit. He spent most of his adult life in the Downriver Area settling in Taylor. Johnny was a hard worker and would serve on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company for many years. He was employed at their Wixom and Flat Rock plants before being laid off. He then took employment as a bricklayer performing repairs and working as a cement finisher with the Best Chimney Company. Johnny was well-known for his fun loving personality. His one-liners and quick wit led him to be the life of the party and brought mass hysteria. He was generous, always willing to give someone the shirt off his back, although later he might remind you how he bailed you out. He was stubborn and ornery, yet loving and caring. John Douglas "Johnny" Watt, age 64 of Taylor, passed away at 10:15pm on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. His passing was preceded by his parents. To cherish his memory, Johnny leaves his two beloved sisters: Mary Simmons of Taylor and Nancy (Jim) Hunter of Dearborn Heights; four nephews: Jim Hunter, Bill Hunter, John Simmons, and Noah Simmons; and a host of friends. A memorial service is being planned in the future. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185.
