I feel fortunate to have had a wonderful visit with Shelby last year and shared with her many precious memories from our youth and some good NC sweet potatoes for her to make some of her delicious pies. I regret not being able to pay my respects to her in her final days due to being incapacitated myself myself due to illness here in Chocowinity. She will always hold a special place in my heart. May she RIP forever more.

Sharon, Gary & Tony, There are no words to ease the loss but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief. I (Beth) have many found memories of Shelby! She is an amazing woman of strength, creativity, spunk and courage. Her devotion to her family and friends was precious. There's a verse in the Bible that gives me comfort in the midst of loss - it says; "He [God} will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more – or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.” Shelby (and my dad) are out of pain, and full of joy in His Presence.
