Eugene Francis Bezeau Sr. was born February 3, 1932 in Monroe. He was one of six children born from the union of the late Warro Bezeau and the late Leona (Lazette) Bezeau and attended Saint Joseph Parish School in Monroe.
Eugene married the love of his life, the former Jewel Darlene Monday on May 26, 1951 at Niagara Falls. From this union would come the birth of three children. He supported his family employed at Ford Motor Company as a Hi Lo Driver for thirty years taking retirement in 1982.
Eugene was quite the jokester, always pulling pranks on his willing victims. With his softer side, he exemplified a man of patience as a caregiver and was known for helping anyone in need.
Eugene appreciated the outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman. He not only enjoyed umping softball games, but participating in the sport also along with bowling and playing hockey. In his quiet time, Eugene liked to tinker in his workshop and feed his pet squirrels in his backyard.
Eugene Francis Bezeau Sr., 84, of Monroe, passed away at 3:18pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Medilodge of Monroe. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by his loving wife of fifty-five years: Jewel Darlene Bezeau; two brothers: William and Darrell Bezeau; and a sister: Rita Ann Keppila.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his children: Valerie Bezeau , Debbie (Richard) Lentz and Eugene "Bubba" (Debra) Bezeau Jr. all of Monroe; two brothers: Robert (Rose) Bezeau of Mount Clemens and Donald (Dorothy) Bezeau of Monroe; seven grandchildren: Tiffany Dye of Monroe, Brandon (Sara) Dye of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Chad (Rabecca) Collum of Monroe, Angela Collum of Monroe, Travis (Krystie) Collum of Sylvania, Jacob Bezeau of Monroe and Jerid (Sarah) Bezeau of Monroe; ten great grandchildren: Lexi, Logan, Nevaeh, Roenin, Declin, Connor, Keagon, Kennedy, Ashton and Parker.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm- 8:00pm on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe (734)384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 11:00am on Monday, February 29, 2016 also at Merkle's with Pastor Roy Southerland of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park for burial.
