Obituary of Ryan Poirier

Ryan Marc Poirier, 28, passed away on December 14, 2015 from pneumonia in St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born May 15, 1987 in Monroe, was the son of Donald Roger Poirier and Maeve Lenore (Reh Fidell) Poirier. He was an honor roll student and honorary football member his senior year. He graduated Monroe High School in 2006.
A fierce competitor with a love of sports, Ryan enjoyed Fantasy Baseball and Football, sometimes playing up to four leagues a season. His favorite teams were Detroit Tigers, the Red Wings, the Seattle Seahawks and of course, the Michigan Wolverines. He could always be found watching Sports Center on ESPN.
Family was very important to Ryan and his was large. As a member of a blended family, he had seven brothers, two sisters and seven nephews and nieces, whom he loved very much.
He is survived by his mother: Maeve Poirier, his brothers and sisters: Paul Erick Fidell of Monroe, Lisa Lenore Fidell and her son, Henry "Tre" Richard Wasden III and his father, Richie Wasden of Florida, Michael Poirier of Monroe, Daniel and Patty Poirier of Monroe and their children Aaron and Ali, Donald Kevin Poirier of Monroe and his daughter Anne, Mark of Detroit and his son Robbie, Patrick and Jenny Poirier of Perrysburg, Ohio, Paul and Jodi of Mio, Suzanne and Scott Moreno of Lincoln Park and their daughter Kaela, grandmother Jeanne of Munising, uncle Gerald and Barbara of Macomb, aunt Charlene and Bill Hornsby of Sterling Heights, and a sister-in-law, Patti Poirier of Florida, Uncle Darrell Reh and Aunt Lucienne Pitcher and family. Also his second family Terrie Gee and her family including Erika, Bianca and Gianna.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald Poirier, grandparents Charles and Rhona (Begley) Reh, Roland Poirier, and Uncles Marc and Kevin Reh, and nephew Sean Poirier.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday, December 19. 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00pm also at Merkle's with Pastor Daniel Potts of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Family has requested that guests wear sports attire to services, especially Ryan's favorite teams: Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, Seattle Seahawks or Michigan Wolverines.
