Elizabeth Naomi Ferguson was born in Carleton, Michigan on June 26, 1932. She was one of five children born of the late Benjamin and the late Katie (Parkhurst) Ferguson. After graduating High School in the class of 1951, she attended Adrian College for one year.
Elizabeth married the love of her life Dr. Raymond Kuzewski on July 31, 1963 in Lake Louise, Michigan, from this union they raised four beautiful children in a blended family.
Elizabeth supported her family, alongside her husband by working as a Veterinarian Technician for Ash Veterinarian Clinic in Carleton that she co-owned for sixteen years, taking retirement in 1979.
Elizabeth was a very active member of Alpena Seventh Day Adventist, where she was heavily involved with the women's ministry. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, known for her crafted baby blankets, and spent time quilting and knitting. She was true to nature, loving all animals and wild life. She was also a wonderful cook; specializing in making homemade buns.
Elizabeth Naomi Kuzewski, age 83, of Presque Isle, Michigan, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Monroe. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her loving husband of forty-three years: Dr. Raymond Kuzewski on June 17, 2006; a son: Andrew Kuzewski; two sisters: Violet Hutchinson and Lois Harvell; one brother: Larry Ferguson; a grandson: Rodney Neil and a son-in-law: Chuck Lodico.
To cherish her memory, Elizabeth leaves three children: Mark (Annette) Kuzewski of Carleton, Mary Jo Lodico of Jacksonville, Florida and Lesha (George) Boyke of Tawas City, Michigan; a foster child: Jerry Konosko of Detroit;a sister: Bonnie Ferguson of Monroe; a daughter-in-law: Kathy Kuzewski of Atlanta, Michigan; three sisters-in-law: Sandy Ferguson of Carleton, Delores Stachura of Novi and Rosemary Pietras of West Bloomfield; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her beloved feline companion: Callie.
Friends may gather on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00am, also at Merkle's with Pastor Rod Thompson of Monroe Seventh Day Adventist officiating. Procession will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for Entombment.
