Obituary of Kenneth Cavanaugh
Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth Joseph Cavanaugh was born in Highland Park, Michigan on July 11, 1944. He was one of three children born from the union of the late Thomas and the late Lydia (Kostamo) Cavanaugh. He was educated in the Catholic School System in Detroit.
Kenneth married the former Raquel Guerrero on June 19, 1965 in Detroit, Michigan. From this union the couple would be blessed with the birth of three children. Kenneth was an extremely hard worker and felt it was his duty to provide for his family. For more than fifty years he worked for the same entity, Contractor Steel Company based in Livonia. Driving truck was his passion and he often said he would work till the day he died. Kenneth was a proud member of Teamsters Local 299. Kenneth attempted to retire several years ago, but he had difficulty sitting around. He drove his family crazy with mowing the grass several times each week and his OCD when it came to the family pool. He soon returned to work until his medical retirement in February of 2014.
Kenneth loved conversation. He was a friend to all and often just stopped and struck up a conversation with strangers. He was quite the jokester and very laid back. He prided himself on keeping up with current events. He often took the time to watch the nightly news and read several newspapers each day.
Kenneth Joseph Cavanaugh Sr, age 71 of Romulus, passed away at Beaumont Hospital - Wayne on Monday, October 26, 2015. He had been under the care of Hospice of Michigan. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by a sister: Rosalyn Drew.
