Obituary of Michael Graves
Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael Ernest Graves was born in Monroe, Michigan on August 15, 1954. He was the son of the late Ernest and Axie Mae (Wilson) Graves. He attended Erie Mason High School.
For many years, Michael worked for various local companies as a laborer.
Michael tried to portray himself as a rough and gruff kind of guy. Those who knew him best soon realized that he was neither of those things. Although they would probably laughingly agree that he had no etiquette. Michael could often be found visiting with his special friends at the U and I bar. He loved to shoot pool and play euchre. He loved listening to music, especially old country and blue grass.
Michael Ernest Graves, age 61, of Carleton passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2015. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by one sister: Phyllis Graves; and one brother-in-law: Bob Mayes.
To cherish his memory he leaves three sisters: Carolyn Mayes of Carleton, Ella Fay (Ronald Sr.) Harmon of Tennessee, and Sandra (Rudy) Poupard of Adrian; two brothers: Edward Allen (Cheryl) Graves of Southgate, and Gregory Graves of Carleton; one daughter; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Friends may gather from 10:00am until 11:00am on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe 14567 South Dixie Highway (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 11:00am.
