Obituary of Frieda Siebarth
Please share a memory of Frieda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frieda Lorain Thorman was born in Spring Green, Wisconsin on December 25, 1932. She was one of nine children born from the union of the late Frederick Carl and Wilhelmina "Hattie" (Homann) Thorman. She grew up participating with 4H, and attended Lake Mills High School.
Frieda would meet her future husband, Elmer D. Siebarth at the age of 13. The couple would marry on October 8, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Shortly after moving to Monroe, Elmer was drafted into the Army serving in Korea and Frieda returned to Wisconsin. After Elmer's discharge in 1952 the couple returned to Michigan.
Frieda became a homemaker to her husband and five sons, but she was best described as a Domestic Arts Expert. She tirelessly and diligently provided a safe and loving home for her family. She was a fantastic seamstress and a phenomenal cook and baker. Frieda spent much of the year canning whatever was in season and had helped many couples by creating and decorating beautiful and intricate wedding cakes.
Christian faith and worship were most important to Frieda. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church serving in many capacities including Ladies Aide and assisting with funeral dinners. In the past she had served with Cub and Boy Scouts.
