Dear Laura, Kayla and family,
Pure joy sums up the times I have spent with Elinor! When we got together we solved most of the worlds problems which left each of us much lighter in spirit. We became acquainted many years ago at Jefferson Schools.
When you have a sad day missing her...please think of a time when you shared a wonderful moment as you were traveling on one of your exotic cruises, this will guarantee a smile... even when things didn't go as planned! I always enjoyed hearing about your vacation experiences. Elinor so enjoyed those trips.
I have many happy memories of times when we would run into each other as we were running errands. Thank goodness we had the sense to stop running and catch up on each other's happenings! I won't be able to experience such surprises again.
I can say for sure that your mom and grandmother lived life to the fullest and left our earth A MUCH BETTER PLACE!
I was blessed to have Elinor as a friend.

I met Elinor about thirty-five years ago, How it happen Michael my husband and her husband son from a preivous marriage and I were in church the preacher was preaching on the Polish crisis this was 1980 we lived in Florida at the time. So I ask Michael isn't your father polish and he said yes. Have you ever thought about finding him? He said well yes but I have no clue where to start, he had not seen his father for many many years. So I said where was the last place he live he said Detroit Michigan I think. So we begin to call all the town around Detroit and with a name like Pokrywka with in one afternoon we found him. It was such a wonderful reunion he found out he had a beautiful sister Laura and a wonderful step Mother. From the very begining I thought she was the most loving woman I have ever met. She was strong loyal faithful and would lay her life down for her family and friends.
She was absoluley thrilled with our Heather who was five at the time also my son from a previous marriage he was fourteen she never made a difference between the children and was thrilled to become an over night Nana. I have always called her Mother in love because alot of Mother-in-laws get a bad rep. We never had a fight we never stop speaking to each other she was my greatest supporter my confident My Mother and I will for ever miss her. Love You Always Mom...............................Your Daughter in Love Joy

I am deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of Elinor. It was only a month ago at the Cancer Support Group that we had a Christmas Party. Elinor was one of the volunteers to dress up as one of the two Santa's for a game we were playing. Elinor was always so nice to everyone and always ready to talk. She will be missed at the meetings by all. My condolences goes out to her family and friends for their loss. Cynthia Roof (Cancer Support Group)

I am so saddened to hear this. I never met Elinor in person, but spent much time talking to her on the phone for the Bed Ministry. She was such a comfort to me when my parents passed in 2013, always asking how things were going. I will miss our chats. Heaven has gained another true angel. God bless your family as you move through this difficult time.
