Daniel Erwin Emmerich
March 27, 1951 - January 30, 2015
Daniel Erwin Emmerich was born in Dayton Kentucky on March 27, 1951. He was one of six sons born from the union of the late Charles F. Emmerich II and the late Drucella M. Wehunt.
Daniel was a wonderful father and proud grandfather. He took great measures to make sure that all were taken care of even if he himself was struggling. Daniel loved to spend time with his family and was always the jovial one.
Daniel was a hard worker spending more than thirty years employed by DTE. On the job he could always be counted on to complete tasks. He had a firm belief that if you said you were going to do something, always do your best and complete your task from A to Z. He took great pride in caring for his home and car.
Daniel found great pleasure during his off time listening to sport broadcasts. He had a knack for being able to remember sport statistics. Daniel was a member of the YMCA Tennis Club, and loved to fish. He was also known to love a good game of golf, participating in many charitable scrambles during the years.
Daniel Erwin Emmerich., age 63, of Monroe passed away quietly on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Fountainview of Monroe His passing was preceded by his parents: Charles F. Emmerich II and Drucella M. Wehunt; and two brothers: Larry Emmerich and Frank Emmerich.
To cherish his memory he leaves his son: Nicholas ( Abby ) Emmerich of Grand Haven Michigan; three brothers: Fred ( Nancy ) Emmerich of Portage Michigan, Don ( Judy ) Emmerich of Cold Springs Kentucky and his twin brother Dave ( Michele ) Emmerich of Newport Michigan; one granddaughter Elleana Emmerich, and many nieces and nephews.
A private gathering for family will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 11:00am-11:30am, at Merkle Funeral Service, 14567 South Dixie Hwy (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of his Life will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 11:30 am also at Merkle with Sister Kate O'Brian from Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital officiating.
