Obituary of Barry Pitt

Barry Alden Pitt was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 8, 1955. He was one of three boys born from the union of the late Orlander and Alpha Christine (Hurst) Pitt. After graduating high school, Barry served his country honorably in the United States Army during the end of the Vietnam War.
Most recently, Barry supported himself as a trucking dispatcher at Top Flite Express Inc until having to take medical retirement in 2003. He was a proud veteran and stayed active with his fellow veterans in Roseville. Barry had a tremendous love for the guitar and used to spend all his free time playing. He was previously a long time member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
Barry Alden Pitt, age 59, of Roseville, Michigan died peacefully at St. John Macomb- Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2:46 pm. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by his brother: Orlando "Jim" James Pitt.
To cherish Barry's memory, he leaves two children: Hope (Randy) Graves, of Erie and Shaun (Lisa) Graves of New Mexico; a brother: Farrell Keith (Dorothy) Pitt of Toledo, Ohio; five grandchildren: Dalton Sheehan, Brock Graves, Zack Graves, Jace Pitt, and Peyton Pitt.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Erie; 9156 Summit Street in Erie, Michigan (734) 848-5185. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 1:00pm at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle with Pastor Roy Southerland officiating. Military honors will be held under the auspices of the Erie VFW Post 3925.
