Dear friends & family; Jon rented from me, becoming my tenant on my birthday in April, 2013. As I got to know him, I discovered a warm, wonderful, responsible and caring man. A couple of weeks ago he was sharing his fond memories with me of his time in Hawaii with various members of his family; remembering that time with a big smile and descriptions of the wonderful time he had there. He told me of his love for the great state of Colorado and hoped to return there upon his retirement! Jon made the best chicken noodle soup & I was happy when he shared it! He insisted I not only have some at the house, but take some more to go and I’m glad I did it was simply delicious!! Jon was a great cook; he loved his food a bit on the spicy side & enjoyed it most often with a Spanish flair! He loved rock and Spanish music. I always enjoyed seeing him at the house, because he would never fail to have a kind word or uplifting comment, he always asked if I wanted a pop or water or had a kind word for me or one of his roommates. Jon loved living with the guys in Toledo and shared whatever he could with them as they did with him. My uncle worked on the railroad, Jon knew him. Last year when my uncle fell ill and subsequently died, Jon was very sweet and concerned & I really appreciated his kindness. The world was a better place with Jon in it & it was my pleasure to know him, no doubt a reflection of having been raised in a wonderful family and having great friends by your side! My thoughts and prayers are with those that loved and cared for him. My deepest sympathies are with you. Know that he is truly missed. There is a profound sadness at the house and holes in the hearts of his roommates that comes with the sudden loss of such a close friend and companion. Rest in Peace Jon. We miss you & we’ll never forget you! My deepest sympathies, Molly Mickel, Jon's friend and landlord. PS: The blizzard made it impossible for us to attend yesterday as we had planned, we are crushed we missed the service.

Dearest Jon, Eileen, Chrissie, Patrick and Max, and all the family, It still doesn't seem real or possible. I keep having memories of when Jonnie was a newborn and I loved coming over to see him. I remember his newborn smell. Eileen, it was so hot that summer, no air con yet. You were a new mother and I thought you were such a big adult. I'm staying with those memories for the past couple of days, just dwelling in the essence of Jonnie. Our family is with you in heart and spirit and prayer. You are not alone in these difficult days. There are so many wonderful memories of jonnie... Your laugh was contagious & heartfelt. I remember when you would drive out to bellville to pick me up for the weekends to go to monroe w/you all, & jonnie would always go the scenic route for me to enjoy. A very fun time was when we (chrissy, patrick, lil max, yourself & I ) went to a lil carnival & you & I couldnt get enough of that ride (some twister ride of some sort) & we were jus cracking up laughing so hard that we both were feeling a lil sick, but still went to get a pop! There were only good times spent wnyou & of course all my cousins. I love you Jonnie, rest in love & peace xo love suzie q
