Obituary of Geraldine Sorensen

Geraldine "Gerry" Sorensen was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 12, 1970. She was one of six children born from the union of Jon and the late Geraldine (Ledford) Sorenson. Geraldine was a graduate of North Fort Myers High School. Geraldine took pride in her position as a Restaurant Manager where she worked for nine years. The job she loved most was her position as a Master Control Operator at Fox Television in Cape Coral, Florida and she also worked part time at The Little Brown Jug in Maybee, Michigan for some time. Geraldine was a kind of person who would go out of her way to make people around her happy. She was a loving a devoted mother to her son, Bradley and loved any time spent with her family. Gerry was known to be an outdoors girl who loved to be at the beach when she lived in Florida. She liked to swim and dive in the summer. She also liked to spend her spare time shooting pool, bowling and playing euchre with friends. Geraldine "Gerry" Sorensen, age 44, of Maybee passed away at 7:19 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her mother: Geraldine (Ledford) Sorenson. To cherish her memory she leaves a son: Bradley Charles Sorenson; two sisters: Susan (Doug) Knox of Florida and Colleen of Washington; three brothers: Scott (Leslie) Sorenson of Florida, Jack Sorenson of Louisiana and Adam (Tristen) Sorenson of Florida. Friends may gather from 6:00pm till 7:00pm on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe, 14567 South Dixie Highway Monroe (734) 241-7070.
