Obituary of Sally Ann Harper

Please share a memory of Sally to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sally Ann Reaume was born on May 12, 1949, in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of six children born to Walter R. “Pete” Reaume Sr. and Evelyn (Bastien) Reaume. The Reaume family settled in Newport, Michigan and this is where the children were raised. She graduated from Jefferson High School with the Class of 1967.

Sally was joined in marriage with the love of her life, John Harper, at Christ Lutheran Church in Monroe on May 28, 1988.  The two had a special bond.  For many years they were self-employed and worked alongside each other performing maintenance and repairs at the Country Club Apartments.  Sally was quite handy and specialized in interior painting. She had the necessary patience required to get every line perfectly clean and straight.  When Sally had free time, she spent much of it tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.

Sally was a proud grandmother, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. More than anything else she enjoyed spending time with them and preparing their favorite meals, including her famous homemade mashed potatoes.

Sally Ann Harper, age 74, of Monroe passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on the morning of Wednesday; May 17, 2023. Her passing was preceded by her granddaughter: Katlynn (Owens) Hill; her husband: Johnnie “Pops” Harper; her mother: Evelyn (Bastien) Reaume; her sister: Penny Reaume; her father: Walter R. “Pete” Reaume Sr.; and her brother: Russell Reaume.
