Obituary of Christopher Michael Brockman

Please share a memory of Christopher to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Christopher Michael Brockman was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on April 26, 1972. He was one of three children born to James Brockman and Eloisa (Perez) Brockman. Chris graduated from Milan High School in Milan, Michigan with the Class of 1991. He especially enjoyed his auto shop vocational class. The proud owner of a 1979 Chevrolet Camaro, Chris put his car to the test at Milan Dragway where he participated in the High School Nationals race.

Chris attended auto mechanic classes at Northwestern University and Motech Automotive. He often wrenched on cars alongside his brother, Matt. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitter’s Union Local 190 for more than twenty years.

Chris was very handy around the house as well, although he sometimes fixed things the wrong way according to his brother. Their friendly sibling rivalry extended to bow and gun season where they hunted deer on their family properties.

A Die-Hard NASCAR fan, Chris always cheered for his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr. His favorite race was the Father’s Day race at Michigan International Speedway and often made the trip to Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. Chris also followed WWE wrestling watching The Undertaker and Macho Man Randy Savage take on their opponents. Chris cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He wasn’t afraid to be goofy to try to coax a smile out of them. When his children were young, he would bounce them around on a trampoline and drive them around in his truck listening to loud rock music.

Chris catered to his daughters and treated them to outings and little gifts anytime he could. His girls were his everything. There would never be a dull moment, with lots of goofy laughs and memorable moments. He could never disappoint his girls and Chris was always there for them in the drop of a hat. Just being there for all their events and special moments was so important. A beloved uncle as well, his nieces and nephews thought he was the “coolest”.

Christopher Michael Brockman, age 51, of Milan, Michigan followed his mother, Eloisa Brockman, into Heaven on Tuesday; May 2, 2023.
