Obituary of Ronald C. Breitner
Ronald Charles Breitner was born on June 23, 1942, to Glen and Edna (Redick) Breitner of Petersburg, Michigan. He graduated from Summerfield High School in 1960. He was a talented drummer in the school band, leading to a lifetime of enjoying marching music and impromptu drumming sessions on any suitable surface, sometimes to the slight annoyance of his wife.
Ron married his high school sweetheart, Lila Kay Sisty on September 21, 1963, and celebrated fifty-nine years together in marriage, sixty-four as a couple.
Accomplished in electronics theory and repair, Ron worked as a supervisor at Detroit Edison's Monroe Power Plant instrumentation shop until retiring in 2004. Using retirement as a full-time vocation, he developed web sites and multimedia at the Dundee United Methodist Church. He became well known for lending his expertise to churches across the country in developing and troubleshooting their own multimedia messaging for over 15 years before his health declined.
Ron was a dedicated father. In his children, he attempted to teach his principles of kindness, modesty, balance, fairness, joyfulness, and respect. His patience was legendary and persistence unrelenting, for which he was rewarded with each of his children accomplishing at least two objectives, three on the week before Christmas. As a grandfather, he immersed himself in the role of Papa.
Ronald Charles Breitner, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Dundee on April 15, 2023, after a long illness. His passing was preceded by his parents and a brother: Dennis Breitner.
Ron leaves behind his wife: Lila (Sisty); two sons: Jeff (Amy) and Mike (Yajaira); a daughter: Sarah; his grandchildren: Brendan Breitner, Sean Breitner, and Emma O'Connell; older brother: Glen Breitner; and countless dad jokes and riddles to be untold.
