Obituary of Leona Kroll

Please share a memory of Leona to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Leona Holland was born on November 27, 1942, in Buffalo, New York. She was born from the union of Oliver and Leona (Hearn) Holland. As a young girl, she made her home in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.   She graduated from the local high school and then later completed several college courses also on the East Coast.

Growing up along the Eastern Shores of the Atlantic Ocean it was no surprise that Leona found solace in the sound of the crashing waves, even though she couldn’t swim. In fact, she often stated this was her happy place once she was able to get past the fishy smell.

Leona frequently read for pleasure.  She perused many types of books, and although she typically read anything her favorite was none other than the Bible. Living in Arizona for more than twenty years, Leona became quite accustomed to the climate.  She loved the dry heat and enjoyed it by spending much of her time window shopping. From time to time when something special caught her eye she made sure to gander inside to make it her own.

Leona shared her home with a beloved four-legged canine companion dog, a terrier named Toni. Whenever she left the house for her daily errands, he anxiously awaited her return greeting her at the door with his tail wagging vigorously.  Leona loved watching movies although her narcoleptic condition did not bode well for this hobby. On many occasions she had to watch a flick more than once to actually understand the storyline. A wonderful cook, Leona loved to prepare dishes for her family, especially making her specialty and often requested lasagna dish to satisfy their hunger cravings.
