Obituary of Tom Davidge
Thomas Garfield Davidge, better known as Tom was born on December 16, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to the union of William Davidge and the former Ann (Gies) Davidge. The youngest of eight, Tom graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn.
He made a career as a Truck Driver for Chief’s Trucking, recently retiring in 2021.
Tom deeply enjoyed being out on the open road riding his Harley. Although, he appeared to be a tough biker he had a kind heart and loved having tea parties with his granddaughter.
It was said that Tom was willing to give the shirt off his back for someone if they needed it. He was an exceptionally generous person and often did whatever he could to help out the people in his life. He once sold a vehicle for only $200 because that was all the buyer could afford.
Thomas Garfield Davidge, age 68 passed away peacefully on Sunday; March 12, 2023. His passing was preceded by his parents William and Ann Davidge.
To cherish his memory he leaves three children: Paul Davidge (Todd Ruehle), Joseph Morgan (Pamela Morgan Navarro), and Courtney (David) Boden; three grandchildren: Lliam, Lucas, and Josephine Boden; seven siblings: Joan Tilford, Mary (Frank) Sherman, William (Barbara) Davidge, Rita (Gery) Wilkowski, Edward (Karen) Davidge, Diane (Robert) Klacza and Ann Davidge; and a host of nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather on Saturday; March 18, 2023, from 12:00pm until 4:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 4:00pm with Pastor Kevin Spencer officiating. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
