Otto Philip Myers Jr was born in Monroe, on May 10, 1944. He was the son of the late Otto Philip and Florence (Wilson) Myers Sr. Otto graduated from Monroe High School, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force serving honorably from 1962-1966.
He married the love of his life, the former Yolanda Hernandez on May 10, 1969. From this union would come three children. Otto was extremely intelligent and a hard worker. He was even coined a "workaholic". Otto worked as a Head of Security for General Motors for many years retiring in 2003. Otto also served in Monroe County as a firefighter and police officer.
He continuously put the needs of others ahead of his own. He was well-known for his laid back, witty personality. Otto could also be quite sarcastic with his dry sense of humor. Some of his favorite pastimes included working crossword puzzles, watching his favorite television programs, and curling up with a good book. His reading interests varied from science fiction, horror, murder mysteries, thriller and detective books all being among his favorites. Otto more than anything enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
