Elaine Brown

Obituary of Elaine Ann Brown

Elaine Ann Brown was born on February 20, 1952 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Roy Wellhousen and the late Thelma (Waltz) Wellhousen. To support her family, Elaine worked at Ford Motor Company in Monroe for 16 years as an assembler where she met the love of her life. Elaine married Richard H. Brown on September 28, 1997 and enjoyed a perfect marriage until his passing on February 26, 2016.

Elaine was a woman of faith and devoted her life to God. She was a member at Monroe Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a Sabbath School teacher. She enjoyed reading her bible and listening to Christian music.

Tending to her garden was something Elaine took great pride in. She also helped take care of the herbs behind the local library. She enjoyed being outdoors and this allowed her to become a part of nature. She liked to watch the birds and enjoy going on walks to stay healthy. In her spare time, she liked to go shopping and always enjoyed cooking. Baking cookies during Christmas time was something she always looked forward to because it was her favorite time of year.

Spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do. Known by her grandchildren as “Mimi,” she cherished the time she got to spend with them.

Elaine Ann Brown, age 65 of Ida, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at her home with family at her side. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Brown and her parents Roy and Thelma Wellhousen.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved daughters: Clare (David) Scott and Jennifer (Gary) Hemry; her grandchildren: Hillary, Tabitha, Joshua, Zachary and Keziah; her sister: Lenore (Bill) Wood; her brothers: Howard (Jean) Wellhousen and Merle (Laura) Wellhousen and many extended family members and friends.
