Obituary of Larry Charles Randall

Please share a memory of Larry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Larry Charles Randall was born on October 5, 1941 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was one of six children born from the union of Loyal and Ann Mae (Harper) Randall. He attended Monroe High School and graduated with the class of 1959. Larry spent most of his career in the cement industry where he served in the maintenance department. It is there that he gained his passion for fixing things; becoming everybody’s “go to” when in need for a handy man. He retired from Holcim US Inc. when he was 59 years old.

Larry was a simple man and didn’t much care for change. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was known to be very caring, kind, compassionate and “Down to earth.” He had a passion for building things, particularly with wood. His shelves and woodwork could have made him a self-proclaimed carpenter. He loved watching his sports, especially football and baseball. When he wasn’t entertained by sports, he would enjoy watching Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune, Columbo and Perry Mason until a commercial would come on and he would resort to flicking the remote. When able, Larry loved to go fishing and enjoy the outdoors. He was not known to be a picky eater and would eat anything someone would cook for him. His favorite meal was goulash that would be made from leftover chili and he wouldn’t be caught without his lifesaver candies.

To cherish his memory, Larry leaves behind his children: Scott (Wendy) Randall of Muskegon, Michigan, Wendy (Robert) House of Punta Gorda, Florida and Todd (Ruth) Randall of Muskegon, Michigan, his Grandchildren: Scott, Sara, Chris and Tiffany, his Great Grandchildren: Jackson, Baleigh, Mikayla and Ava, his Sisters: Shirley (the late Frank) Valicenti, Carol (Wayne) Cooper, Donna Petruso and Dorothy (Richard) Mullins, and his Brother: the late Gordon (Mary) Randall. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
