Kenneth Clark

Obituary of Kenneth Roland Clark

Kenneth Roland Clark was born in Trenton, Michigan on June 15, 1943.   He was the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Brosman) Clark.  He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Kenny married the former Ina “Ruth” (Bowers) on July 31, 1967.  A hard-working man, Kenny worked in the construction industry for more than thirty years, and was a proud member of Local 465.

He loved to be active in his grandchildren’s lives being a frequent fixture at their sporting events, taking them for tractor rides, and teaching about the birds on nature walks.   He enjoyed golfing, taking trips to Northern Michigan and Tennessee when he wasn’t enjoying his Links at Lake Erie membership.  Kenny liked travel, fishing on the shore of Lake Erie, and listening to music from the 70’s, the Blues, and Eric Clapton, and he loved to dance unless Ina led.   He was a member of the Monroe Moose 884, Fraternal Order of the Eagles 2254, and VFW Post 1138.

Kenny seemed to be good at everything he tried and competitive.   Whether golf, bowling, or pool he would often change the rules to prevent losing.   He was well-loved, never met a stranger, and the life of the party.   Kenny enjoyed entertaining and didn’t rest until everyone had a drink.   He cherished the time spent conversing with family and friends.

Kenny, age 74, of LaSalle passed away at home on Saturday, August 12, 2017.   In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by brothers:  Donald, Charles, and Albert Clark; a half-sister:  Phyllis Miller; and a half-brother:  William Miller.

To cherish his memory Kenny leaves a beloved wife of fifty years:  Ina of LaSalle; four children:  Caroline Hamilton of Oahu, Hawaii, Donald (Jerilyn) Clark and Gregory Clark both of Monroe, and Kevin Clark of LaSalle; five grandchildren:  Heidi (Mike) Bennett, Taylor Hunter, Kaitlyn, Jaclyn, and Josalyn Clark; two great grandchildren:  Aubrey and Mikey Bennett; and his four-legged furry companion:  Toby.
